Research is an important part of my writing. I recently completed a biography of Donald B. MacMillan, an Arctic explorer. Before writing the book, I read hundreds of pages from his diaries and journals. The book is scheduled to be published in 2010 by Calkins Creek Books. 

Look for some of my articles in the April issue of Cobblestone, which focuses on the discovery of the North Pole one hundred years ago, in 1909.
